St. Vincent DePaul
SOCIETY of St. VINCENT de PAUL – BLESSED TRINITY CONFERENCE
Originally founded in 1833, and inspired by values of sharing and charity as described in the Holy Gospel, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, one of the oldest Catholic lay organizations, urges its members to grow spiritually by collaboration in service to those in need of its assistance and its support. At Blessed Trinity parish, the Vincentians, as members of St. Vincent de Paul Society are called, offer individualized contact to those who are located in our Akron North Hill service area. These members of our own SVDP parish group, called a conference, participate in a variety of traditional outreach activities which result in a number of volunteer opportunities and services. The conference has scheduled meetings, and participates in our ongoing efforts in several functions: helping at the Hilkert Ozanam Center, making home visits to assiss furniture requirements, evaluating various requests for utility and other assistance, and referrals as required to other agencies.
